Birds of Eden in Plettenberg Bay is the world’s largest free-flight aviary, offering a breathtaking sanctuary for over 3,500 birds from around the globe. This unique aviary spans a lush indigenous forest, allowing birds to live in a natural environment while providing visitors with an immersive experience. As a key conservation project, Birds of Eden rescues and rehabilitates previously captive birds, giving them a second chance at freedom. Birds of Eden’s unique two hectare dome (the world’s largest) spans over a gorge of indigenous forest. Currently it is home to over 3,500 birds from over 220 species, with the main focus being African birds.
